What color? Some use silver but I prefer craft brown. Before choosing your color, consider if most of your gift giving is more casual like birthdays or more formal like weddings or anniversaries.
I know, I hear you: but bags are so convenient! Honestly paper gift bags are very expensive and a pain to store even under the best of circumstances. Let’s not forget how awful they look once they are wrinkled. Fabric bags are an environmentally friendly option, yet put a storage burden on the person receiving the gift.
Wrapping paper doesn’t have any of these disadvantages — it’s inexpensive, always appropriate, fits all different sizes of gifts, can be recycled, and it doesn’t put a storage burden on the gift recipient or the gift giver. Always buy the best quality paper you can afford.
Use quality ribbon to give your gifts some pop: green and red plaid during the holidays, white for a wedding, blue, pink, or yellow for baby showers, and any assortment of colors and patterns for birthdays. My favorite is polka dots! Be sure to buy wide fabric ribbon with wire. This will make your bows look amazing, even if you can only tie bows like the ones on your shoes.
