Two cats named Pit and Pat were tossed out of the house. They scuffled in the snow until an idea came to mind... their own Christmas tree! Thoughts and schemes and suggestions were exchanged back and forth in hopes to decorate the perfect Christmas tree of their own.
"And what if we trimmed it," said Pit,
"with ice mice and icicles," said Pat.
But sadly, that was not possible by two tiny cats. Instead, they used their combined imaginations and never ending "What if's to come up with a plan to get back inside their owner's warm house... and boy did it work!
This is a perfect story for cat lovers and children stuck in the "What If?" phase. The hidden lesson teaches the reader the importance of working together to achieve what it is he wants. Published in 1987, the illustrations are on the bland side, using a short range of color, but the plot is one to remember.
